Processing your name, email, and content to provide the NewHere service — creating your account, displaying your posts and replies, and operating the platform.
Sending push notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time by disabling notifications in your device settings.
Personalising your feed using your profile data (stage, visa, problems, skills) to show relevant content. Using device and usage data to maintain security and improve the service.
NewHere uses your profile data — specifically your immigration stage, visa type, region, and stated problems — to automatically score and rank posts in your personalised "For You" feed. This is automated profiling.
No automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects are made about you. The profiling only affects the order in which content is shown to you. You can view unfiltered content at any time via the General tab.
We share your data only with the following processors, each bound by their own privacy policies:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. Data is shared with law enforcement only when required by applicable law.
Posts and replies you create on NewHere are visible to all registered users of the platform and may be indexed by search engines via public post pages (newhere.space/post.html). Do not include personally identifiable information in posts you do not wish to be publicly visible.
NewHere uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to save your login session and app preferences such as dark/light mode. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to third parties.
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or analytics services that track you across other websites.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication is handled securely via Supabase Auth. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
NewHere is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.
